There is an quick and easy test available online to determine if you maybe at risk for diabetes. Take the test below and read on for follow up steps.
Diabetes Risk Test
If you are at risk, take the following steps today:

1. Ask your doctor to test you for diabetes or pre-diabetes.

2. Make healthy food choices by:
  • Reducing your intake of sugary beverages - such as pop, juice, sports drinks, etc.
  • Reducing your intake of sugary treats - such as candy, brownies, cookies, etc.
  • Watching your portion size of grains and starchy vegetables. When you dish up your plate, only a quarter of your plate should be from this food category. When you do eat grains and starchy vegetables, try to choose whole grain and avoid white flour-based products.
3. Exercise regularly. Studies have proven that a regular exercise routine is essential to maintain weight loss.

4. Get your sleep. Good quality sleep is important to limit the complications from diabetes.

Share this test with your family and friends. The U.S. diabetes population is growing rapidly, from nearly one in 10 adults, to more than one in seven adults by the year 2020.
